Facebook SDK for Android! Facebook is dancing to the tunes of Android. Firstly, they had refused to develop the app for Android but now by developing the app they sure do know how to make faces! It is not surprising since the latest results by Admob has displayed the surge in sales of Android based devices which has been at the cost of iPhone. In Mainland China, Android has overtaken iPhone by 20%.

Facebook SDK do make things easier for developers as they can integrate their applications for Facebook with a few code additions. According to developers blog, the SDK will support features such as:

  • Strong Authentication using O Auth 2.0;
  • Making requests to new Graph API;
  • Publishing stories back to Facebook via Feed forms.

According to sources from the F8 conference, this new Android SDK is the first mobile SDK from Facebook that offers Open Graph API. This makes the Android SDK more advanced than the kit available for iPhone. We should see an advanced iPhone SDK soon.

So, cheers to this SDK, we can see more apps with Facebook for Android platforms. It will be a big booster for Android sales, since Facebook has become an integral part of our social life. We also hope to see updates from Android developers to make it more stable and usable. Nonetheless, the app at this stage for Android is no comparison to the official twitter app.
