Square, is a new accessory in the android market helping the concept of mobile payments anywhere, anytime using a plug-in device. Square can read a credit card and send instructions to the mobile app which then allows the user to accept a payment from anyone, anywhere.

Square is a cube shaped plastic plug-in device, which can be plugged into the 3.5mm headphone jack of any Smartphone. Users can swipe his/her credit card through the slit provided in the device, capable of reading a credit card.

An android user has to download the square app and sign up for it. You have to provide your shipping address and you will get your card swiping machine in a few days. That is interesting right? You don't have to pay for the app or the device. But Square banks 2.75 percent of the total transaction in addition to a charge of 15 cents per swipe, and 3.5 percent plus 15 cents for each transaction made with a keyed in entry.

Square allows you to make your online payments and to access your receipts online. The receipt, location of the transaction, the signature, and other details of the transaction will be emailed to the customer. All your square receipts can be browsed through easily. For all the items, you can browse through the photos, read descriptions, and also share them with others. The transaction process is authorized with a finger signature via touch screen input and the square app provides receipts via email or SMS. It calculates the taxes as well. The app has a handy dashboard to manage the sales as well.
