XPERIA X3 Rachael is the latest android collection of Sony Ericsson’s wide empire of cell phones. This android phone packs a lot of trade mark distinctive features of Sony Ericsson like smile shutter, face detection, image stabilization and digital zoom with auto focus. It is the latest of the full touch-screen phones in the XPERIA line. XPERIA X3 is a lot different from its predecessor XPERIA X2. A lot of new additions and the use of advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (current industry favorite) make the X3a power house of speed and performance. In terms of style, XPERIA X3 Rachael exceeds many expectations. The presence of 4” 800 x 400-pixel touch sensitive screen is truly intimidating. The color combinations offered to customers by Sony Ericsson for XPERIA X3 is also remarkably apt and suitable.

XPERIA X3 provides Quad-band GSM connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) along with Dual-band 3G (900/2100 MHz).While the HSDPA connection provides a speed of 10Mbps the HSUPA provides a speed of 2Mbps. The camera available on this cell phone gives clear shot images with its 8 mega-pixel auto focus system. Presence of smile shutter and face detection makes the camera mostly fun to use. The camera comes with a 8x digital zoom and image stabilizer for capturing far away images. The flash provided for the phone is LED flash.

When it comes to video recording, Sony Ericsson has pulled the chords drastically by just allowing VGA video recording only. While the camera features has put the XPERIA X3 almost in par with most advanced camcorders, VGA recording is a bit of a demoralizer. The main supported formats in XPERIA X3 music player are MP3, AAC and eAAC+. The ring tones of the phone may be switched between monophonic, polyphonic (64), MP3 and AAC formats. All the basic messaging services including sms, mms (with video) and E-mail (POP3, SMTP, IMAP4, MS Exchange) is available in this version of XPERIA. Connectivity features of the phone include mini USB and 3.5mm AV connector. The 3.5 mm headphone jack present on the phone can be used for connecting the supplied Sony Ericsson Headphones easily. Wireless connectivity can be sought through Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11g) and also Bluetooth (2.1). The call features of the phone include caller id, voice dialing and hands free.

Like the latest HTC models Sony Ericsson has also introduced a user interface on top of the Android. Presence of this new and improved, customized user interface is a remarkable feature of XPERIA X3. The user interface provided is truly costumer friendly in design. It focuses mainly on online communication and networking. Unlike XPERIA X2 (X3’s predecessor), X3 does not come with a hardware QWERTY keyboard. This is considered as a drawback by most cell phone analysts. 3 easy navigation keys are only present beside the capacitive WVGA touch screen of XPERIA X3. The presence of 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Android OS has undoubtedly notched up the phones power and speed. A GPS navigation system, which is a present generation common android feature, is also present in XPERIA X3.
